June 25th, 2014’s Journey

Good bright and sunny morning to you!

Already had my two cups of coffee, made my husband his, written three, legal-sized pages of Christ’s words in red, and had quiet time . . . and I’m ready to go for the day.

Yesterday we finished up decorating the library. Please see exhibit “A.”

We are very excited with the way the room turned out and now want to spend all day in the one finished room of our new house. πŸ™‚ Actually, the kitchen is pretty much good to go except for tiling the backsplash and a few decorations.

I’m looking forward to picking up some of those books and reading them in the upcoming months as we’re preparing to depart for the mission field. I am a HUGE fan of reading and have a voracious love for books, so this particular room is very dear to my heart. With all of that being said, I’m not very well-read, but I plan on changing that at this point of my life. I adore reading, but have quelled that desire over the past twenty years due to pursuing other interests/loves. I’ve always viewed reading for pleasure as a luxury, so I simply have not allowed myself that indulgence. But times have changed, and I’m excited about this rediscovered, reborn passion!

Isn’t life grand?

Β Today has been a pretty productive day! Bryan and I got the house numbers affixed to the outside post. I’m in love with them as they have a sleek, yet retro look. Last night, the doorbell was replaced as the other one did not work, and a plumber came by as well . . . hallelujah! We’re awaiting a quote from him.

Tank & Star are doing well, although they greatly miss their “parents”!!! I’ve really been enjoying writing Christ’s words in red on a daily basis (our pastor had recommended that spiritual exercise). Oh yes, we also set up the library today! Please check out our latest pics below . . .

Still committed to starting my day off right!

June 18th, 2014’s Journey

Last night Bryan hung some glorious plantation blinds onto the French doors so we’d have our much coveted privacy. Yay! Also, today marks the first day I made coffee in our new home. I also hung the handy dandy little mail catcher under the feature wall; Ashley had given that to me as a Christmas present this past year, and it is oh so fitting for the new place!image

We also found out today that it appears that our homeowner’s insurance will get a new AC unit for us as it is pert near impossible to find parts for the ol’ dinosaur! Hallelujah for that!!! That means it will probably be about two more weeks until we get AC at our house . . . good thing I really like the heat!!! image

“And the walls came a tumblin’ down . . .”

Wall Down

Wall Down!

Bryan and I wanted to open up the space a bit between the kitchen and living area. At the same time, we still wanted to retain part of the wall as we’ll need that for cabinet and refrigerator space. So excited!!!

Today has been another smorgasbord of activities to include:

  • Meeting the contractor/workmen at our new house (there for a few hours)
  • Going to Home Depot to buy some supplies
  • Finalizing embroidery logo and the accompanying paperwork
  • Researching current costs of room dividers and taking pics of said objects
  • Visiting my sis in the hospital
  • Putting together our two, bathroom Ikea sink cabinets
  • Sold a few books
  • Updated some web graphics
  • Got rid of our old stove/oven at the new house
